Cove Data Protection Linux recovery

Linux Recovery is specific since System State cannot be backed up and restored for Linux devices, the following steps can be followed to restore a Linux system:

  1. Reinstall the correct Linux distribution
  2. Install Backup Manager in restore-only mode:
  3. Grant the installer execute permissions
# chmod +x mxb-linux-x86_64.run
  1. Run the installer by itself:
# ./mxb-linux-x86_64.run
  1. Enter the original device name, installation key, and encryption key
  2. Choose option R for restore-only mode
  3. Launch Backup Manager
  4. Restore the files and folders that you want to recover
